I am excited by everythingthat Austin helps us become better designers. I started out designing websites on my couch and now I have several employees and I love that ATX has been there with great activities for designing and art appreciation. Happy to be in Texas and I love ATX

I grew up roaming the Copper Hills. My Dad, Dr. Harris and Mom, Marge, spent countless lunches and dinners there. I remember splashing my hands in the giant shell waterfall and making wishes as I tossed coins in there. My parents played bridge there occasionally with Danko and Maxine..or Danko and whomever was around.
Bridge was a big game back in those days. I learned to play by the time I was 16 and sadly no one I know now plays. During the time the Great White Hope was being filmed in Globe, I was working as a waitress in the restaurant and got to know all the stars, Larry Pernell, James Earl Jones - it was very impressive for a young adult. I remember Mitch Saban in the bar and Helen High at the hotel. What great memories I have of this ICON of the Globe-Miami area. It really saddens me that it is gone.

i believe I would test through the model at first. I'm still on the fence with fixtures as true "unit tests", although they are tremendously valuable, but kinda clunky. I don't think that unit tests are platform specific; it is more important to test things that affect the functionality and performance of the application, any application on any platform, and not be too worried about an affiliation with a platform.

I plan to experiment more with django's fixtures packages, but time has been at a premium lately. I hop this helps. If you have further questions don't hesitate!

Thanks for your "testing with django" in a nutshell. I've learned how to test with django's implemented facilities but one thing is still vague. I am aware of the importance to develop test driven, but i haven't come to bring it to reality and so i am still lost about what exactly to test, when it comes to developing a django project. Your example is pretty straight forward but somehow still not directly affiliated with django. Are there any things one has to test specifically when developing with django, like redirects etc.? How would you proceed when tackling database dependent functions?

Thank you for bringing back my dining-memories of dinner at Navarre's. For many years I have sought this recipe, and one other, for my personal collection. (I am not a commercial venue, but just enjoy entertaining in my home with wonderful one-of-a-kind things to eat.)

Dining at Navarre's was an event for any of us Phoenicians in the 1960's, and it was a heart-breaker when they closed their doors.

My final quest is to recover the original recipe for Navarre's Coq Au Vin. Should this recipe be still lurking around some dark corner somewhere, I'd appreciate a little direction on where I might find it.

Again, thank you so much for sharing with all of us who well remember the days of fine dining in Arizona.
